Method B—Remove the tree with Content-Aware Fill (fast for backgrounds)
-
Duplicate the Background layer (
Ctrl+J/). -
Select the tree using Lasso (
L) or Quick Selection (W). Make the selection slightly larger than the tree so Photoshop has surrounding pixels to sample. -
Open Content-Aware Fill: Edit → Content-Aware Fill…
-
Photoshop will open a preview and show the sampling area in green.
-
If the preview looks good, click OK. If not, paint on the sampling area to remove or add source pixels and tweak Sampling Area Options.

-
Inspect the result: if small mistakes remain, use the Spot Healing Brush (
J) or Clone Stamp (S) to clean edges and repeated patterns.
